A blog is an amazing marketing tool that can be optimized to move up in the search engine rankings much faster than a typical website. Now I’m going to show you how a blog can help you gain even greater exposure and help you have a greater chance of selling your real estate faster.

I talked about keywords in the post about video marketing and how you want your video themed and keyword rich with the phrases that your tageted buyer would type into the search engines to find your property. That is the same formula we want to use with your blog. If you are selling a beachfront condo in Miami’s “South Beach” your keyword phrases may include the following: “South Beach Condo”, “Miami Beach Condo”, “Florida Beachfront Condo”, “Miami Condominium”, etc.

Remember to theme your blog title and subtitle with your keywords…

Now, why a blog you ask? First of all you are going to find that Google loves blogs and they rank very high on Google’s search engine results page quickly. Use the localized keywords in you title and your article and you could see faster results. What does this mean to me and what’s the advantage of a blog when selling my real estate?

As I mentioned Google loves blogs! A blog gives you added exposure in the search engines. When a potential buyer does a search using a keyword that describes your property the primary goal is that you will come up on the first page of Google. By localizing your keywords with phrases like “Miami Beach Condo For Sale” or “Looking for South Beach Condo” you have a good chance at page one! You can find out how many times a keyword is searched by using Google’s free Keyword tool. More about that in another post.

Other Advantages…

You will have a website address with your blog! You can write short posts in your blog about everything that makes your property so special and you don’t have to do it all at once. Every few days or once a week write a new post consisting of a short two or three paragraphs about things that buyers would want to know about. Write about the neighborhood, the new up-grades, added features, and the schools. The list is endless and what a great advantage over everybody else in your area.

Another Advantage…

Put the website address on your YouTube video page in the description section so potential buyers that find you on YouTube will have access to tons of specific details about your property. “Content is King!” Next I’m going to tell you where you can get a free Blog.

Go to Wordpress.com and sign up for your free blog. They offer some good tutorials on setting it up. You can also find excellent video tutorials on YouTube. When you use Animoto’s automated upload feature into YouTube you need to log into your YouTube account and make a few changes that will greatly improve the ranking of your video. Click on the edit tab and go to the tags section. Tags are the same as keywords and you need to add tags to improve you rankings! People will find you by typing a keyword that is synonyms with your tags. For example if your property is in Fort Lauderdale and in the community of “Coral Ridge” your tags may include the following: Coral Ridge real estate, Florida real estate, Fort lauderdale real estate, home, homes, house, property, condo, condominium, golf property, waterfront, beach, etc.

The point is you want your video to be optimized and search engine friendly. Also, give your video a title that includes your keywords.
